American Nightmare

Somehow I was able to stay up long enough to watch American Nightmare where Paul Bradley had a small role. It was worth staying up for it of course. He plays a scuzzy motel manager. He cracked me up when he was on the other end of the phone line before you saw him.

Sadly, he only played in a few other films after that. I do remember seeing him in SEEING THINGS which is an awesome sitcom from the 80s.

Michelle and I went to Chahaya Malaysia last night and it was quite good. Very good quality and good service as well. It's halal of course.

Oh, strangely enough, I saw Psycho (1960) for the first time ever last night. You'd think I would have seen it before considering my passion for thrillers, horrors etc....

Suit

Picked up my suit for my sister's wedding in a few weeks. Pretty neat. Got a neat tie today as well.

Ate at Ciccio the other night. Pretty good. Typical Preston St. Italian. Nice being on the patio. I think I was ther as a kid with my folks back in the day. Established in 1974. Good year.

Beckta

Decided not to go camping cause it was too hot and hotels were booked in the Laurentians so we decided to do something instead and went to Beckta on Friday night. Now, I know I had promised myself that I would try Signatures before Beckta but it was too hot to throw a suit on and we'd rather go when it's a little cooler. Beckta seemed more summery. I liked it. It didn't blow me away but it's a good spot. Incredibly overpriced but all of these places are.

Chilling at my parents' place right now. Heat wave in Ottawa.

Cumin and Goan

Michelle and I tried this little place which specializes in dishes from the State of Goan in India. It was good but sooooo spicy.

We reserved our car for the wedding. It's a 1937 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Sedan. Really neat.

Off camping this weekend near Perth.

Theo

Michelle and I had the pleasure of meeting Paul's wife and baby Theo the other day. An adorable looking baby. He was pretty quiet until he got hungry!

Back in 1993 I spent some time in Florida and met a group that worked in Almonte at a place called JRs. I told them I would stop by some time. Well, 2006 was time. Michelle and I finally went and had dinner there. One of the girls looked very familiar. I think she might have been part of that crew that I met in Florida. The food was decent.

Recently viewed a couple of remakes. Hills Have Eyes and When A Stranger Calls. I liked them both.

Spent the last two weekends at the cottage and the swimming was great.
